Men watch the View?

I was looking at some of my past blog’s today and I came to the realization and fear that most of them tend to be assembled more for women. I am aware that I am, in fact, a woman, but as a growing writer and inspirationist I want to make sure that I set up view points for both sexes. This got me to thinking. Every day at 11 am, my father……my 6’3, macho, “make my day” father, watches THE VIEW. That’s right. Even if he goes to lunch he makes sure it is taped and watches it when he gets home. This to me is perfectly acceptable, in the sense that I know why he watches it, and I don’t blame him. However if he had even the slightest inkling that I told anyone else, he would kill me.

The reason I find The View fascinating is because of the characters and personality clashes. My father does probably agree with me on that,( at least Whoopi for sure), but he is in it mostly for the politics. You see my father, a pretty consistent Republican his whole life is now no longer, and has not been for quite some time. I will not go into MY personal feelings on Elizabeth Hasselback as I have rated this blog PG, however, the show is really one of the greatest venue’s for interesting and controversial conversation from all different standpoints and is delivered with respect….for the most part. 🙂

So if my macho, man’s man dad can sit around and enjoy 5 women talk over eachother, than I think we can give all other men a little more credit. Although they might not want to admit it I do believe there is a soft spot in even the most masculine of men.
